Elena Elgani

Researcher at the Department of Design - Politecnico di Milano


PhD in Interior Architecture and Exhibition Design, she is currently a research fellow at the Department of Design, Politecnico di Milano. She teaches Interior Design and is secretary of the Interior Design course at the School of Design - Politecnico di Milano.
Since his PhD, he has developed research in the field of interior design focusing on the hospitality system such as hotels, hostels, co-living, campsites and new formats, analysing the transformation of the sector in relation to new spatial behaviours and transformations, such as hybridisation processes. He has also studied living and working spaces.
Recently, it has focused on the relationship between space design and environmental, economic and social sustainability, considering customised interiors, contract projects, furniture systems and people's well-being.
Since 2010 he has been working as an assistant professor of Interior Architecture and Interior Design at the Politecnico di Milano, participating in various teaching activities: lectures, tutoring for dissertations, workshops and international competitions.
She researches, teaches and consults in the field of hospitality, is author of publications and member of international networks (NEWH), juries and scientific committees.
