Co-Founder - studio b-arch

Alessandro Capellaro began his career in Barcelona, in Pep Llinàs' studio, before returning to Italy and obtaining a PhD at the University of Florence, with a thesis dedicated to designed architecture. After graduating in Architecture in 1997, in 2000 he founded the b-arch studio in Florence with Sabrina Bignami. Alongside his professional activity, he has an intense commitment to teaching. From 2002 to 2007, he held the Graphics course at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence and, since 2010, he has taught at the IED in specialisation courses and in the International Master in Visual Communication programmes. He has been a visiting professor at Auburn University of Alabama, New Haven University and Tsinghua University in Beijing. A designer and draughtsman, he focuses his research on contemporary domestic space and the relationship between memory, form and function. His approach integrates experimentation, craftsmanship and pragmatism, with a natural focus on the human side of the profession. He works with a computer, pencil, sharpener and, above all, a Bic pen.
