Artist-Architect and Interior designer

Hugo Toro is a French-Mexican artist-architect and interior designer originally from eastern France. He graduated with a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture from Penninghen in Paris (2012) before completing a second Master’s degree in Architecture between Vienna and Los Angeles (2013-2014). At just 37, Toro has established an international reputation through a series of acclaimed hospitality and residential projects. His portfolio includes the atelier of Villa Albertine in New York City, the recently opened JP at Louis Vuitton restaurant in Seoul, and the Orient Express La Minerva, which was dubbed one of Rome’s most beautiful hotels.

Alongside his architectural practice, Toro has cultivated a parallel artistic practice through drawing, painting, and sculpture. In May 2022, he unveiled his first furniture collection at Christie’s. Recently, he presented his first large-scale painting exhibition, Aguas que murmuran, at the Institut Culturel du Mexique in Paris (2025), marking a significant new chapter in his artistic journey as a painter. This momentum continues with his first solo exhibition, Ojo de Agua, which showed at Perrotin’s New York City gallery this summer (2026). Today, from his Paris-based studio of around twenty collaborators, Hugo Toro continues to lead an expanding portfolio, including spaces in Paris, Miami, and New York and more upcoming international projects. His work as a multidisciplinary visual artist runs parallel alongside his architectural practice.
