Bio

With a degree cum laude in Architecture - from the University of Florence in 1988 - Andrea Grassi, aka "the globetrotting architect", immediately began his professional activity abroad - working at important design studios in the Hospitality sector, from Boston to Honolulu, London and Seville, managing wide-ranging international projects, from the Pan Pacific area to North Africa and the Red Sea. This important experience thus enabled him to build the foundations of a vast and recognised international professional network, which is today one of the distinguishing features of his professional figure.

When he returned to Italy in 1997, he founded the Genius Loci Architettura (GLA) studio in Milan together with fellow students Arch. Enrico Santi and Ach. Stefano Boninsegna the design studio Genius Loci Architettura (GLA).

Responsible for major projects for a national and international clientele, he stands out for his ability to synthesise and solve design problems through creative and pragmatic architectural solutions.

GLA-Genius Loci Architettura's clients include leading operators and realities in the Italian Real Estate sector such as Dea Capital, Covivio, Coima, Savills, Investire, Hines Italia, Prelios , as well as international investment groups and funds operating in Italy such as HIG Capital, Pygmalion Capital; Goldman Sachs and even the United States Government for the project of the new Consulate General in Milan. Among private clients, the collaboration with the KERING Group stands out for the projects of the various Italian operational and representative offices of GUCCI and AMQ.

In the Hospitality sector, he contributed and collaborated in the development of major new hotel projects for chains such as 25 Hours Hotels , Double Tree Hilton, Dorchester Collection, Anantara / NH , Meininger Hotels, Hyatt, Baccarat Hotels, Radisson and Cloud 7.
