Corinna Kretschmar-Joehnk, university lecturer and co-author of numerous design books, founded with her husband and partner Peter Joehnk the interior architecture studio JOI-Design, a European leader in the creation of space and product design for international hotel destinations. The Hamburg-based team creates luxurious atmospheres for global properties, independent boutiques and youthful lifestyle brands. A keen observer of the world, JOI-Design understands how spaces influence people's physical, psychological and spiritual well-being, enabling them to reflect the modern spirit through unique design that elevates the human experience. Launched in 1984, the studio now has three talented partners who continue the 40-year legacy of Corinna and Peter as founders and co-CEOs.
Under the leadership of Corinna and Peter, JOI-Design has worked on more than 600 hotel projects worldwide and has been honoured with more than 150 international awards such as: The Design Award 2023, the Iconic Award for Innovative Architecture 2023 and the German Design Award 2024.
